THINGING: Dance and Translation and the Work of Anne Carson

Silas Riener

November 11, 2015

Silas Riener performs "Thinging" at Serpentine Galleries in London, U.K.

Dancer/choreographer Silas Riener will perform a new iteration of a solo dance-lecture titled THINGING: Dance and Translation and the Work of Anne Carson at London's Serpentine Galleries. Developed while in residence with collaborator Rashaun Mitchell and artist Charles Atlas for their multiyear project, Tesseract, an integrated 3D film and dance performance, THINGING is a meditation on the limits of language, using poet Anne Carson's texts as a starting point for Riener's extemporaneous solo dances.

EMPAC 2015–16 presentations, residencies, and commissions are supported by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Jaffe Fund for Experimental Media and Performing Arts.
