The Sanctuary for Independent Media

Celebrate the Troy arrival of the sculpture Ilopango, the Volcano that Left by Beatriz Cortez as it travels the Hudson River onboard the fireboat John J. Harvey.

On Sunday, October 29, the sculpture proceeds from the riverfront Marina at Kingston’s Hudson River Maritime Museum to Troy’s Federal Lock and Dam, which marks the end of the tidal estuary and the meeting of the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers.

RSVP if you wish to attend the Troy reception. We will meet at The Sanctuary by 3PM Sunday for informal introductions and light refreshments. Early arrival is recommended. We will then go together by land to view the sculpture's arrival. The sculpture is expected at the lock at approximately 3:45PM.
