Web Accessibility Statement
We want everyone who visits EMPAC's website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
With the exception of time-based media, this website is WCAG 2.0 AA conformant.
What are we doing?
To help us make our website a positive place for everyone, we’ve been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone. We used the WCAG 2.0 standards as our goal for conformance.
The WCAG guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). Rensselaer has chosen Level AA as the target for our websites.
What are we working on?
We’re working diligently to achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility, but we realize there are some areas that still need improving. We've conducted accessibility audits throughout the development of this website in 2018. The following are some of the known issues that we are aware of.
- Video content is level A conformance. Where appropriate we provide alternate versions of our videos with generated closed captions and transcripts. If you'd like to help by correcting any of our captions through the YouTube crowdsource program just go right ahead. Our channel is EMPACRensselaer.
