Chris Lirakis
Chris Lirakis is an experimental physicist and a pioneer in quantum information science. He received his PhD in high-energy physics from Northeastern University, where his work involved developing and deploying large-scale particle detectors. At BBN Technologies, he helped advance metropolitan-scale quantum key distribution and founded the Disruptive Information Processing Technologies group. He later joined IBM Quantum, contributing to the development and deployment of quantum-computing systems and leading teams working on advanced quantum devices. He is now helping the University of Rhode Island develop its quantum laboratory while leading Lirakis Quantum LLC, which supports research, education, and the emerging quantum-technology ecosystem.
