Yihsuan Chiu
Yihsuan Chiu is an independent curator based in Berlin and NYC, currently, she is the studio manager for Afghan-Canadian artist Hangama Amiri. Chiu’s work focuses on contemporary artistic practice as an outlet to negotiate complex historical narratives due to immigration, warfare, modernity, and system of coercion.
Chiu holds an M.A. from Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College (CCS Bard) and a B.A. in History from National Taiwan University. She is the editor of Haze Publication: Hong Kong’s Water Revolution in Contemporary Art and Culture (2021). She also worked in research and editorial capacities with nonprofit organizations and individuals including, Light Industry, November Magazine, and art critic Dawn Chan.
