Jerry Huang
A researcher at the Experimental Media and Performing Art Center (EMPAC) and the Collaborative-Research Augmented Immersive Virtual Environment Laboratory (CRAIVE-Lab), Jerry Huang is a PhD candidate in Architectural Acoustics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His current research focuses on distributed telepresence in Room-Oriented Immersive Systems (ROIS). Currently, he is developing a game-based interactive telematic system for ROIS that can facilitate the collocation and communication of human and machine agent groups in disjoint physical locations in shared virtual worlds. Through this framework, he is creating Bayesian simulation-based computational cognitive models that are capable of capturing and analyzing the emergent interaction dynamics for these situated agent groups. Prior to his current study, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, and a Master of Science degree in Architectural Sciences, both at RPI. In conjunction with his current doctoral study, he is also pursuing a Master of Science degree in Cognitive Science.
