Maarten Koeners

Maarten is a senior lecturer at the University of Exeter Medical School where he studies and teaches medicine and medical sciences. Maarten is trained as a biomedical researcher (experimental nephrology) and over the years he has become passionate about strengthening the link between learning and joy through play. He uses insights in the biology of play and playful learning to inspire and engage learners (including students, educators, and facilitators). Recently he and Adam Lusby (University of Exeter Business School) established INNOPLAY, an initiative to find solutions to enable innovation through play. Through INNOPLAY he continues to create experiences to unlock your imagination, creativity, compassion, and performance to navigate complex challenges and make positive changes.
