Yevgeniya V. Zastavker

Yevgeniya V. Zastavker is a Professor of Physics and Education at Olin College. She creates student-centered experiences in science, design, and education to create structures and cultures that facilitate students' motivation and desire to engage with engineering in more compassionate and empathetic ways. Through this work Zastavker continues to focus on the challenges underrepresented groups in STEM. By leveraging research-based best practices (e.g., contemplative pedagogies) she creates learning spaces with increased sense of belonging. She compliments this praxis with scholarship. As Co-PI, Dr. Zastavker will focus on curriculum development and integration across the community (Goal 1) as well as research - including data collection and analyses, - in addition to paying attention to the diversity, equity, inclusion, access, and belonging (DEIAB) considerations.
