Submissions

Reembodied Sound 2024

Key Dates:

  • Deadline for submissions: 11:59:59PM EDT Friday, November 17, 2023
  • Selections announced: Friday, December 1, 2023
  • Symposium: February 2–3, 2024

Submission Tracks:

  • Presentations: 20-minute presentations inclusive of questions and discussion. This track includes presentations of scholarly work, discussions or analyses of new or historical works, demonstrations of software, hardware, compositional techniques, etc.
  • Performance Works: Compositions, improvisations, or other works designed for a concert setting. As there is limited space available for the concert, works under 20 minutes in length will be given priority. Please be aware that there will be very little rehearsal space available during the symposium.
    • Please include sample recordings of the work.
    • You may include a notated score or text description (in PDF format) if applicable.
    • The symposium is unable to provide performers for the event. Composers are responsible for performers for their own works.
  • Sound Art/Installation: Gallery-style pieces suitable for exhibition alongside other works.

If you wish to submit in more than one track you will need to submit a new form for EACH proposal. All proposals will be considered independently. While you can submit to each track, you can only submit a single proposal for each.
