Wadada Leo Smith

Wadada Leo Smith is a trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, creative composer/performer, and author. His diverse discography reveals a recorded history of music centered in the idea of spiritual harmony and the unification of social and cultural issues of his world. Among his many distinctions, Smith was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize in Music, received the Religion and The Arts Award from the American Academy of Religion in 2018, and was selected as a 2022 Arts & Practitioner Fellow at Yale University’s RITM.
